What powerful tool can you use to create results which you have already?

In deciding what to share in order to create the biggest impact, I always come back to a piece of magic that not too many people have figured out how to use….it seems it’s a bigger secret than I realised…and its FREE.

There was a three year period in my life where I had nothing except a heap of credit card debt…no job, no home...not even a bank account.

When I look back, I wondered how had I managed to have everything I wanted without a penny to my name. Even now that I am doing so incredibly well in my life, why has no body charged me for that period. It was given to me absolutely FREE with a big smile.

My partner is one of the sharpest, most astute business men I know and yet it puzzles him how he is compelled to lavish me with whatever he thinks I could possibly want.

You want to know how to do this right? You sure deserve it.

I started to really explore this phenomena. I went over my corporate career. I recalled how I had always got pay rises and was told to keep them hush. Pay rises that nobody else got, over and above the annual rises. Every company. There was no specific patterning that I could reason. I was looking for some rational explanation.

I wondered was it just the property companies? No.

Maybe it was just the law firms because they had more money to spend? No.

It was any company no matter what their bank balance…even those who were struggling!

Was I more experienced or educated in the field I was working. No, not at all.

How come family and friends (some of whom had simply been newly found acquaintances) were paying me flights to Denmark (I was pursuing my now partner who is Danish). 26 flights at $450 a time…why were these people doing this? Had I asked them? No. What was I doing? What was this secret ingredient.

I recall one situation that came up between me and my boss where he actually went out and bought me a gift even though the situation had not gone his way at all. I didn’t know he was livid about it until my more immeditate boss shared how he had given me the gift and then stormed into her office and started pouring out his anger at how things had not gone his way.

But for her telling me this, I would have absolutely no idea how dissatisfied he was. He had gone out and specifically bought me a gift…he’s not a guy that does that!

How could I get what I wanted from a CEO of a very cutting edge company (who was responsible for moving billions of dollars around at a handsome profit) to buy me a gift even though things had not turned out the way he wanted them to?

Even though I know the answer and want to tell you, I'm stalling...

I'm still looking for a different word to use. Some hip, cutting edge marketing jargon because it really is too simple a concept …so here it comes

…the biggest secret is ‘love’.

You see, when you come from a place of love you learn the art of communication and when you learn how to communicate you can have everything you want in amazing ways. If you’ve got kids then you know what I’m talking about. How you communicate can make the difference between getting what you want or having a hard time.

It’s love that’s going to get you the bank loan you have been turned down for.

* Figure out how to validate people and show them you care before you do anything else. Get yourself out of the way. Step into their shoes and feel how you would receive what you say and do.

* Don’t point the finger at anyone for where YOU are.

* See the benefit of everything you communicate for THEM not you!

* Talk to people in a place that is comfortable for them. For example, if you need to confront someone and you know they don’t like confrontation, don’t go there. Perhaps communicate by email or letter. Find a more comfortable situation whereby they will safe first and then you have their attention.

* If it is someone you know, get under their skin and find out what motivates them. If you know your boss likes a pat on the back, tell him or her what a positive inspiration they are, or how good they are at what they do before you go anywhere (don't lie, the energy will mirror itself right back;

* If you’re upset, just blurting it out will get you nowhere, especially if the other person is not in a good place.

- Be smart about how you communicate. It's a FREE resource that can create absolutey amazing breakthroughs.

Don’t glance over the words with a ‘yeah, yeah, yeah’ attitude unless you want to carry on going around in the same circles of never having enough money or getting what you want.

You can carry on looking for more cutting edge ways to make life better if you want, however, if you examine why things are not so effective you will come back to the same reason, communication

…it usually comes down to choosing ineffective methods, ineffective timing, ineffective words…it is a POWERFUL resource you have already.

The more you have invested in the situation, the more careful you have to be before you open your mouth or write a word.
